The American terrorist (Bush & company) have won as well, in the ability to do exactly as they like to us and restrict our rights of assembly, freedom of speech, movement and due-process, etc. in an effort to propagate this false sense of security. For the federal government its a win-win situation.
For the actual terrorist organization its a winning recruitment strategy
The average American is the big loser in this game.
Evidently "dont be a ....." cant help but be just that, so here we go, for him and any other person in denial of where we are or where we're headed.

I miss being able to move freely through the airports, I know that.
And if you follow the conspiracy theory, Osama Bin Laden didn't actually orchestrate the 9/11 attack. It was all a coverup to hide the 2 trillion dollars Donald Rumsfeld stole. So, the government really has been behind this cultural cataclysm.

Terrorism is the EXCUSE used by our leaders to remove our freedoms!! Actually the real terrorists have always been fomented by our side, but even them don't really see how it works (or else everybody would have known).
In any cases, the years ahead are not gonna become better, but we can say that we have been luckier than other generations, to have lived a few years of freedoms before its comes back again to survivals...

Which freedoms are you refering to as "lost"? I checked and I have not seen one that the Government has "gotten rid of". I still have freedom of speech (and so do you judging by your questions) I can still move from one place to another without an internal passport (such as what was required in several Communist Nations) I still have the right to assemble peacefully (and I note that right is in use by people that disagree with the Government)
I have the right to bear arms. No problem there.
I have the right to disagree with you, as I have several times on this board.
I don't have the right to communicate with terrorist groups with the idea of killing innocent people. (Is that one you want?)
So please specify, what rights do you think you have lost?

Exactly, the real question should be !. Who are the real terrorist? and then question 2. What do we need to do? The only real terrorist that are a clear and present danger to us is our own government, they are lead around by their pockets by bug business and corporations, and what we need to do is revolt and have a revolutionary change to put this country back where it needs to be, and the way it was supposed to be..

Back in the day, we used to have privacy, habeas corpus protection and the assurance the military had no role to play in domestic law enforcement. The " terrorists " are assisting GWB and his neocon friends in their goal to convert the US into a fascist police state. Yet again the US is helping the terrorists. - George Bush and Richard Cheney are enemies of the state; under any measure of Constitutional justice they should have been impeached and removed from office - if our Congress been doing its job.

There's no use in trying to appeal to their logic because it hurts their heads to even imagine that it could actually be that simple.
They would rather believe that Bush and Osama are sworn enemies.
They would rather believe that the WTC was attacked by Iraqi trained AlQaeda instead of US trained Saudis.
They would rather believe that a bearded man in a cave planned the most serious attack on US soil in our history.
They would rather believe that torture makes people tell the truth.
They would rather believe that Bush and Cheney are not profitting from a war in Iraq.
I could go on but they get the picture.
And yes to all the people who say they haven't lost any freedoms. What will you say when the police push your door in and arrest and detain you and don't even tell you why? It may not have actually happened but if and when it does remember that you haven't lost any rights OK.

In some senses they have been victorious. All they have to do is post some BS on some radical site and we go to condition red. It has taken billions of dollars of resources to sift through all of that.. Americans, many of them, believe that if they give up some of their freedom for security that they will be secure. Such is not the case. You will have only lost some freedom and have given more power to an already too powerful govt.

Yes it does, if you give up freedoms to protect those freedoms what is there left to protect?
if freedom protection was the true objective of government they would not be doing what they are doing. NO their objective is not protection but domination.
