- This might be not only your longest question ever but possibly the longest question ever on Y!A. Whew! (:

It'll obviously be quite time consuming to wade through all the vids but there's a good chance I've seen some (or most) of them already.

The legacy and impact of both bands is definitely powerful for me. Not only as a collector of their recorded music but fortunate enough to catch em live several times. (Once or twice in the same show w/ Uriah Heep)

My ears are still ringin from those shows....but that's a whole nuther discussion. (Sound Pressure Levels & DB's - 70's Concerts)

Both bands MORE than deserve their place in rock music history. As far as I'm concerned, they're there.

They were explorers. They broke ground, cut through trees and paved Rock Music Road.

Rock On!

True pioneers and it's sad that kids today have no idea who started it all and think MCR and Linkin Park are real bands,I'm only 25 but I respect my music and know where it came from and I dont limit myself to just the newer bands because where would they be without Sabbath,Deep Purple, and Dio?Thanks again for the MSG too
How powerful is their legacy,I think I covered it but just in case, they're like the first Presidents that built the country and everyone else after still uses their "ideas",it's their blueprint that we follow.
Anytime dude, just keep asking Q's that have a point

While either band may not have the "luster" of some of the more recognized groups, the stamp has been set and they will endure based solely on the contributions of the music and vision. I simply can't imagine my world without "Highway Star," the first song played in all of my vehicles since I've been driving, or Black Sabbath's debut album taken as a whole.
