My friends and I are coming back from Iraq in DeC. and we would like to go to a fun place such as Miami. Is it worth going in January?

January is usually sunny and warm during the day, cool at night. Like highs 65-80, and lows 50-65. Ocean temp. about 72-76 degrees.
If you're from up north or west, you can just go right in and swim in the ocean, and most pools will be heated. It's a busy time of year, so you'll see people from up north, Europe, Asia, Canada, and Latin America, lots of tourists, lots of traffic. Higher prices in the hotels.
It's nice , though, and a lot of fun. Great people watching, and the beach is beautiful, but if you want really hot weather and warm water, you'd need to go farther south to the Caribbean for example.

January is a nice time to go. We do occasionally get cold fronts that pass through. The normal temp is about 75-78 during the day, in the 60's at night. If we get a cold front it may drop to the 60's, but it won't last more than a couple of days. The water is still warm. It's too cold for us natives, but Northerners think it's hot. I would say it's a great time to come down.
