What was reason the nazies killed so many Jews?

Agreed with the above poster. In addition, Hitler basically blamed anything bad that ever happened on the Jews. According to him, they were responsible for not only the Depression and the loss of WWI, but they were also conspiring with socialists to overthrow western government (and eventually western civilization at large).

One of the Nazis' foremost goals even from the outset was the establishment of "lebensraum," or living space, in the east. Hitler wanted to depopulate territory east of Germany and resettle German citizens there. It isn't coincidental that a good portion of those populations already there were Jews. Rather than ship them off somewhere else -- and there were ideas of doing that, one even naming Madagascar, of all places, a potential location -- it was much quicker and cheaper to herd them into ghettoes, and then to concentration camps. From there, it was only a short leap to mass murder.

Hitler blamed the Jews for the Great Depression and the loss of World War I. He felt that killing all the Jews (The Final Solution) would make Germany greater.

Hiltler wanted to build an ayrian nation. Look at the skin heads, they believe pretty much the same as Hitler. And because Jews were dark haired and skinned, they didn't fit into his idea of a strong German person.

It begins with post world war one and follows through to the depression of an already unstable Germany.

Secular and religious division during which ethnic Jewish families and communities controlled financial aspects of both businesses and banks whilst unemployment and poverty for the natural born Germanic people gave an easy platform for both communist and hard right (Nazi) groups to prosper with the unrest and starvation amongst the masses.

The inability for Jewish people to interreact with the German race based on their strong Hassidic religious principles and keep themselves isolated within the heart of the country's financial sectors caused much dislike to the German people.

A perfect scenario for a hatemonger like Hitler to generate his platform and use the Jews as part of the reason for the state of decay in that time. Once the ball was rolling however there was no turning back and a program of confiscation and de-registering the Jews as citizens was initiated and run efficiently by his gangster cronies.

As the money in Germany was almost worthless and prior to Hitler's government restructuring the 'Reichmarck' later, it was known through his secret service or 'Gestapo' that Jewish securities were mostly in the form of bullion or diamonds vaulted in Germany and Poland so....,in order to bolster the economy these had to be seized along with valuable property to enable his party to prosper and build his empire. Firstly the actual people had to be 'de-registered' as citizens and isolated.

At that time no 'final solution' had been devised as such. That came later with Himmler and his grim plans after the invasion of Russia although experimentation was already in place in isolated areas of some camps in Poland.

It is not completely true that the SS were involved in all the brutality within the larger camps as they grew in numbers. Treblinka for instance was mainly guarded by Ukranian Nazis as were many other of the camps staffed by ethnic recruits into the SS. These troops considered lesser than the Germanic SS units who did not want to 'soil' their hands with the duties of extermination (the aryan or teutonic principle of their strange cult)

Himmler organised his Einsatzgruppen killing machine from his teutonic castle in Wewelsburg where he conducted ritual knighthoods and ceremonies in an almost Wagnerian concept of comic opera.

Most of Hitlers closest cronies in the Reichstag and Nazi party were not well educated and they virtually became a mafia of sorts..despotic gangsters ruling over the military... whose Generals and other officers were extremely experienced, educated from classic families and patriots to their own country whoever was at the head of it. A mix doomed to failure but at a high cost to beat unfortunately.

War is about money and trade with land as an access, it always has and always will be. The Jews were just there.. isolated within themselves because of their traditions and they had the money and assets and would not fight back!

Six million plus in Europe. By comparision there are probably less than 5 percent of that number of Jewish families living and working in Europe today. The Jewish people do not forget their history.

The word 'Jew' is not a common accepted practise anymore as this normally relates to Hassidic religious belief and you now have 'Israeli' which seems to work better as it relates directly to the now national identity.
