I'm thinking about going there the end of the month. Can I get by only knowing English? Is it expensive (my currencey is the Euro). What is the nightlife like? What are the best things to see and do? Are the people friendly?

Thanks for the help. 5 stars to the best answer

hi again!
as I have already told you, you'll be fine with english, don't worry. it's very expensive but it's the most beautiful places I've ever been. I went there in summer to see midnight sunset at north cape but you won't be able to admire it unfortunately. olso is a little, lively lovely city. I remember that people used to gather in pubs scattered everywhere to have a beer and spend time togheter. they are very friendly and helpful. I haven't seen much in the south but fiords are the main attraction as far as I know. all that you can do in scandinavia is to enjoy the scenary and nature. there is also a museum in oslo where you'll be able to admire the famous painting of Munch. If you like art.. I forgot to tell you that in stockholm you should visit the vasa museum. it's fascinating.
bye

In Oslo most people speak English, those working with tourists almost all speak good English.
Norway is expensive, drinking most of all.
I do not know what the nightlife is like, as I did not go out for drinking when I was in Oslo.
There are many museums, a good maritime museum, the Kontiki museum and a Viking ship museum are together one water-bus trip from the center of town.

All Norwegians I have ever met were very friendly.

(I wonder how you are going to give me stars, if you would want to do that, as you can only give stars on questions, and I have not asked any yet.
Better just select a best answer, whether it is mine or an other.)
