i am starting a small painting business, and i have a competitor who seems to deal with a real estate agent who constantly feeds him work . maybe im a little jealous that this guy dosent really have to do any of his own footwork to get clients. i met the agent at a function, and she wanted prices from me to do work for her. i told her that i would not step on anyones feet to get work( i wouldnt want it done to me).now this competitor kinda screwed me on a joint venture, should i contact her 4 work?or where should i go to find these agents?

Go thru your phonebook (yellow pages) and call all the realtors in your area. Also similarly try interior decorators and large apartment complexes. Good luck!

In my city there are services that deliver advertising flyers weekly to all the realtor offices. This might be an efficient, cost-effective way to get your name out to a lot of potential clients. If your market is smaller you could try to print and deliver flyers to all the realty offices on your own--just ask the reception desk to place a flyer in each realtor's office mailbox. Design a simple flyer and try it for one week to see if you get any leads.

Footwork, and advertise in Realtor mags.
Nothing beats personal contact.

Yes contact her. Beat the competitions price. If she's happy with your work, she will spread the word about you, and before you know it, you have more work then you can handle.
