I am an analyst at a company I have been with for nearly seven years and now I have an oppurtunity for a position as an assistant office manager. The new job is two blocks from my house but I will be leaving my comfort zone. Would it be the right thing to do?

If the leaving the comfort zone is about a lower income, don't do it as it will be a constant struggle that you will likely not be able to overcome. If leaving the comfort zone is about the challenges at work, then you definitely should make the move as you will eventually develop into your new position with ease. Any kind of change can scary, but doesn't have to be if you don't let it.

You know the grass isn't always greener, but can be. If you are driving a distance to the comfort zone and the gasoline or other costs rising isn't a concern, ask them to match your new salary and new perks. Then decide if getting closer to home is the real answer. If it is a step up, and is going to look good on your resume, take it.
