I think personally to put the "romantic way" out of it. That's what got you into trouble in the first place. And sleeping with him just makes you look like you have some sort of problem and you're way of dealing with anything is to get into bed with someone. An apology is best when it is sincere. If he knows you cheated (in whatever form) then the trust is gone. The only way to repay that is over time. If he feels he can even trust you again. That's the thing about trust...when it's there, it can easily be taken for granted. But when it's gone, it's the most crucial thing in any relationship. The only thing you can do is give him a heartfelt apology, say you were wrong, mean it and move forward. But to say you're sorry does no good if you wind up doing it again.

Just go up to him in a private not public place and say what you did and you know you're wrong and sorry and if he forgives you, say that you will never do it again and that you will be totally commited to the relationship.
