How old are you? Are you mature enough to recognize the limitations and responsibilities that would ensue? What happens when the 'cute' baby becomes a very large and very strong adult with long, sharp claws. Do you have a home large enough? Do you have land? Or were you planning on putting this wild creature into a cage? Real nice. Would YOU like to live in a cage? Are you prepared FINANCIALLY? Do you have the money for the exotic vet visits? Remember, you will have to have a vet that specializes in exotic/wild animals. What if the racoon develops a real chronic health problem? Can you afford to properly care for it? It's their right by law, you know. If your circumstances are such that you can't properly care for the wild animal, it will be taken away from you -- and rightfully so. There are very valid reasons it is illegal to own a racoon. It is for the BENEFIT OF THE RACOON!! That is so they can have some semblance of a decent life -- not be someone's 'pet.'
