My dad order me a game off newegg and he told me it was backordered. What does that mean and he ordered it on Nov. 9. How long could it take to get here.

It means that Newegg doesn't have any to ship right now and is waiting for their supplier to ship more to them. It will be shipped to you as soon as they receive more.
Federal law requires that if goods cannot be shipped within 30 days you must be given the opportunity to either cancel the order and receive a full refund or, at your option, extend the delay for 30 more days.

when something is on back order it means that they sell the item but it is not in stock. so people still have the option to buy it and kind of "reserve" it for when they do get some in. It can take from 2 days to 2 months. it all depends on the items demand. if a lot of people went in before your dad then they're going to get theirs first.. and then they may be out and you'd have to wait on their next shipment. It really sucks but just be patient, at least your getting it!

when something is backordered they dont have the item in stock but when it does come, they'll send it to you. i bought something once and they said it was backordered for 3 months. that time could change though..i got my item in 1 month..so theres no set time limit.

It means the demand is higher than the supply that the company expected to sale. So they need to order more of the supply. The manufacturer could be overwhelmed with orders so whenever the manufacturer can get to the order, they will supply them to the seller.

he means its on backorder so whoever makes it doesnt even have it in stock could take about 4 weeks or so

That means that they don't have any in stock and waiting to get them in. The only way to find out how long it will be is to ask the company their ETA (estimated time of arrival). Then find out how long the shipping will take.

Back ordered means that they have a shipment on the way but it's going to take a while because it hasn't arrived at their location as yet.

It means that they are waiting for their supplier to send them the product, before they can send the product to you. The amount of time you have to wait always varies.
