Well this isn't the most money I've spent on one thing but it's the worst purchase I've ever made.

I bought a 2 year gift certificate to 24 hr fitness off craigslist.

I spent $500

It was a fake. 24 hr doesn't accept gift certificates

500 bucks down the drain...

Back in 1991, I spent $300 on a pedigreed Abyssinian cat (to purchase one today would be on the order of $800). I'd seen them in cat shows, and I REALLY wanted one. I still have him! He's 16 years old and counting, and he's a great cat.

A computer but it was on a credit card, it was somewhere between 5 and 6 hundred. I don't make enough to be able to spend such high amounts of money.
