It's always a good idea to back up all the files on a regular basis. You never know what can happen. Even though replacing RAM doesn't affect the files on the hard drive, there is a slight chance something unexpected might come up so it's best if you back up the data before you start or do it on a regular basis like once a month.

There is no connection between inserting new / additional RAM and backing up. I chop and change RAM on my PCs all the time without any problems. The only thing to make sure that you are getting the correct RAM for your motherboard.

No, when you increase the RAM on your computer you're just upgrading your performance and will not need to back up your files.

Not at all, ram does not affect the hard drive at all. It just makes the computer run faster and more simultaneous programs.

You definitely will not need to. The only time you'll need to back up all the files is if you're replacing the hard drive.

Hi. Back them up, but not because of adding RAM. Back them up to have a backup!
