...strapped on tighter than a gas mask by this countries politicians??? I mean a CONTINUING devalued dollar & sky rocketing taxes(property taxes alone!) have turned the American dream into just that, a DREAM!!! I keep telling people to check out their candidate, regardless of the level of office, & make sure the candidate is NOT a politician but a constitutionally based REPRESENTATIVE. I'm shocked at how many American's did not know that the two words have TWO DISTINCT DIFFERENT meanings. A quick check on an on line dictionary tells the story for any one interested. For the uninformed, the words politician & representative are not even "field" related!!! How did the term politician get surplanted in place of the word "representative"??? Are your candidates constitutionally based representatives or just politicians? Do you know how to check it out so you CAN tell the difference? Would you willingly vote for a candidate that you knew was NOT representing you constitutionally?

f1mudvay, I can't speak for your local candidates but I can give you a tip for a presidential candidate, representative Ron Paul. I won't say more save this...check Ron Paul out on line. Wikipedia has the best birth to present on this remarkable man. Representative Paul has a 100% PERFECT constitutional voting record, this might peak your interest in researching him out. Good luck!

In order for them to realize this it would require an education. Unfortunately, most of the people are educated under the instructions provided for by the politicians...so...its no wonder to me that people dont know the difference.
Secondly, a lack of education leads people to be in their comfort zone and happpy with that zone. Once again, it is unfortunate that people arent educated enough to realize that all they have to do is think for themselves and they can break the chains that hold them down. Anyone with a lick of ability to think and draw conclusions based on their own reasoning, rather then spouting the garbage that is being printed as if it was their own thoughts, would be capable of stepping out of that zone and grow....such growth leads to change and empowerment.
You see, once you know the truth you cant go back to the fake stuff. People cant live in denial forever. The truth will set them free so long as they accept it as true.
Realization comes with personal experience. Most people in our society today have not had the educational experience or hands on experience to bring this about - your question will be answered when it happens and they will finally wake up to the truth...hopefully by then it wont be too late.
Tilll then, we will have to keep on trying to educate them and warn them. We might be able to save a few of them along the way.

It is very difficult to convince the masses to think for themselves and accept the responsibility of their choices and actions. I have given up hope that I will find a political representative who will represent my values and value that I am an individual instead of a wealthy corporation. To honestly answer your questions, I won't waste my time trying to find a candidate that is a Constitutional representative. There are too many wolves in sheep clothing. They make promises and project a good image but when the time to carry out the values of those they represent, they flip-flop. Our biggest letdown was the 104th congress. They didn't keep the contract with America that was their election campaign promise. They were put in to do a job, but that job remains undone. Who can and will do that job? I lack any confidence in any politician because when they get in... well, we all know the truth.

When you are around long enough you understand that there are vast forces at work that swing America like a pendulum. The liberal elements get way to liberal and the country gets enough and puts in conservatives--the conservatives get way to conservative and the country gets enough of it to vote in liberals. Americans don't tend to monitor the goverment as closely when things are comfortable--but when things get out of control--on either side of the pendulum they do go to the polls and make a change. If one notices--when the democratic party has control of the white house--over time policys get more and more liberal--to much so for the majority taste--and next election a centrist republican gets voted in. The republicans in power for a while swing to far to the right--and a centrist democrat gets voted in. The positions Bill Clinton took before being elected were essentially those of a centrist--a southern democrat. After 8 years of Clinon--the policys had moved to left of center--and a center of the road republican was voted in (pre 9-11 Bush was a centrist).

The devaluation of the dollar speaks to inflationary pressure in the rest of the world not America. I guess you didn't notice that our balance of trade is the best it's been in 30 years. Property taxes are due to your local school boards and city representatives. That's something YOU should do something about. As far as national politicians, we threw out a ton of our Republican frauds last election. It's high time the Drunkennedy's of the world got the old heave ho as well. In light of his recent soliloquy on virtual drowning, it is apparent he has no shame or soul after all of these years.

I say if it weren't for the ROE then we'd have conquered Afghanistan by utilising now. however the cost tremendously to civilians could have been too lots for every person to abdomen, so the ROE is in place to (between different issues) decrease civilian casualties.

Hopefully people aren't so used to run of the mill "politicians", that they can't get themselves to vote for a statesman.
