Please talk to your parents about getting the pill. My 16 year old sister is 6 months pregnant now because her and her boyfriend were having sex and using condoms as the only form of birth control. My sister was to embarrassed to ask my mother for the pill and the condom broke and now she is going to be a teenage mom.
If you are mature enough to be in a sexual relationship you should be mature enough to protect yourself from STD's and unplanned pregnancy.

Oh my sweet young lady, how I wish I could hug you! You need guidance here so I will offer my level best. It's so hard to be honest about our sex lives, especially with our parents. It's embarrassing!! Hey I was once a young girl too. I think you should ask your Mom if she would be willing to take you to her gynecologist. When she asks why, tell her you have some concerns about your period and would like a professional opinion. This may open up the door to an honest discussion about this issue. If this is just too much and you cannot follow through with it, see a doc by yourself and just ask for a prescription. Before you do anything though do speak to your Dr. about what is best for YOU. They can guide you far better than anyone here, that's their job and they are fully educated and qualified to do so. I'm not sure the pill is much safer than condoms. The pill is more effective than condoms at protecting you from an unwanted pregnancy, but they offer NOTHING in the line of protection from STD's (sexually transmitted diseases). Best wishes and I hope you can find the courage to discuss this with your Mum. She loves you and has your very best interests at heart. Good luck!!!

I'm a parent to two teenagers.....please give your Mom some credit :o) Yes, she is probably VERY aware that you are having sex but it is a difficult topic of conversation unless you two have a very open relationship. And as close as you may be, I had to broach this very topic with my daughter as she felt I would somehow think less of her. This of course was not true, but I do wish she had waited.
Having said that and prior to one of the previous posts, you CAN go get the pill without your parents’ knowledge. The HIPPA Privacy Act has made certain of that. I would however first stress that you try and talk to your Mom first!
If that is not an option for whatever reason, see a doctor. The pill might not be the best option for you either. He/she will help you make the best informed decision on what is right for you. Whatever method you ultimately choose- you should still insist that your partner(s) wearing condoms. All it takes is one sloppy encounter to alter the whole course of your life. Be safe and take care of yourself!

I would just let your mom know. What are you going to do if you get pregnant? It's going to be really hard to hide that from her, and she may feel bad that you didn't come to her in the first place. Besides, you won't have to hide it as much (obviously, don't come right out and tell her when you're going to do it, but at least you won't worry about her finding a condom wrapper in the trash can).
Until you're old enough to care for a baby yourself, use as much birth control as you can; if you get on the pill, continue using condoms. Since you're sexually active, you need to get to the gyno ASAP; if you've already been, he or she can prescribe the pill for you. However, they may be required by law to notify your parents.

if you go to your doctor without your mother knowing then you can get put on the pill and your mom will not know. always be safe and wear a condom and use the pill. that way there is little to no possible way of getting pregnant or STDs. but if you are open with your mom like i am with mine just ask her if you could get put on the pill, at least she will know you are being careful.

You can get birth control from Planned Parenthood, and you don't have to take your parents with you to get it.
That being said, you should use the pill AND condoms. Some things, like antibiotics, make birth control stop working. Sometimes you may forget to take one. Just be as safe as possible!

I think due to your age you can very well use bc pills, but pls go to your doctor first you take any medication, to be honest hormones are something very dangerous to take them without prescription.
I would say congrats! for being so responsible and if you are able to have bc pills by going to the doctor, you better be safe.
A baby is always a gift, but you´re way to young for it. If you do well with bc pills, stick with them for a while till you´re young, When you get older they´re more risky to take.
Good luck! ;D

yes the pill can be good but there are a lot of pros to going on if you don't want to tell your mum (i think you should) try telling her you would like to see if it helps with periods etc if you really don't want to tell your mum i understand i never got on with my mum so i never told her and i was nearly 20 so i can see why some don't but if your relationship is normally pretty good she would be over the moon you have spoke to her. if not talk to your doc before you do anything and really think about it
hope you work things out
