Each player gets payed at the end of the year based on performance? I think we would see alot less loafing and better play.

You are absolutely right. No human being is worth $20 million for a year's work. And it might save the game from the road it's traveling down now. Led by Bud Selig.

here's a lesson in life.

You're worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. If people don't like it, they should stop buying licensed material and stop going to games, how do you think they get paid?

How many people can do what A-Rod does? It's not like there are people lined up outside Yankee Stadium who can hit .320 and slug 50 home runs.

The reason janitors don't make over 20k a year is because anyone can be a janitor. the reason school teachers don't make anything is because many people can teach. the reason professional athletes make so much is b/c not many people can do it.

Only one team in the entire major leagues has an average salary below $1M/year, let alone a maximum.

People should be payed what they can get but I do think that 1 year contracts would be great. Guys get long term deals and then they don't seem to play as hard!!

maybe we should be communist too. If some owner wants to pay 20 million for a player let him. it is a free country

Not only that, but a better distribution of money. These players don't deserve all those millions when there's starving people in our own country.
