Britain makes an unparallelled range of excellent beer. Most continental countries are extremely limited in what they make - for example, can anyone seriously taste the difference between the majority of german lager makes (no matter how good they may be). If I had to choose a second place, it would (perhaps surprisingly) be the USA who have now embraced the microbrewery idea and have at least one brewery in most towns of any size....the days of Coors and Budweiser's tasteless monopoly are over. If the USA is not second them the Czech Republic is. Their lagers are better than Germany's and they also make excellent dark beer, including a stout (Kelt).

How DARE anybody suggest that anyone other than Britain brews the best beer?
We have by far the best and tastiest beer.
German beer isn't much better than diluted water.
Unless, of course, you're talking about the nancy boy lagers - which of course REAL beer drinkers think of as lemonade.
