I want to buy a very dark shiny counter top ( from Pionite - Smoke Granite) for the kitchen. Because it is very beautiful. But I heard that it comes ugly and it shows all scratches on it. How long it takes to see these scratches? Help please.

If I go with the lighter shiny counter top will it show scratches also?

Anything black and shiny, whether a granite countertop or paint on a car, will show defects on the surface (scratches, dirt, water spots, etc.) more than just about any other color. It's the price you pay for having that color surface.

Going w/ paul.
Granite is beautiful & trendy but for a "working" kitchen has the drawbacks he mentioned.
Just something to consider.
