All over the city. Just finding socks and underpants for my husband will take me to AT LEAST fifteen stores (he and I are both EXTREMELY PICKY about those things ... we want knit boxers with prints on them, and brightly colored socks in interesting designs ... he now has WAY TOO MANY ARGYLE ... and it will take another 30-40 stores to find the other things ... but this year he wants an HDTV, and I'm already doing my 'shopping' and finding out all I can about them, so if we do get one, we can bring it home, take it out of it's box, set it up, and USE IT immediately ... with HD quality pictures and sound.

Local Mall, Target, and probably mainly the internet. You can shop around without the hassle, parking and wasting gas if you shop on the internet, that is if you know what you are looking for and have seen it in person.

Garage sales!! Whoo!! Seriously, where I live, there are some well-to-do people a few blocks away, and they have amazing stuff on sale for super cheap. I spent about five bucks and got presents for two friends and my mom. I also like the sales at Target and Walmart, or Barnes and Noble.

I do not Xmas shop. I buy Saturnalia presents. There are lots of small local shops in the Old Port section of Portland that I buy overly-pricey gifts from. Sure to please if not impress!

internet. God bless the internet.
You don't have to find parking
you don't have to wait in line
you don't have to listen to screaming kids and their parents screaming back at them
you don't have to deal with crowds
you can purchase, have wrapped, and shipped to the recipient all at the same time with a couple of clicks - so you don't have to go to the post office either.
