I asked my mom about this a few days ago and she said it was just political reasons but I want to know why. What political reasons? My dad recently went on a business trip to Estonia and there was a Russian that heard him speaking English and started yelling and cursing at him. (by the way ~ I don't mean to offend anyone and I'm certainly not saying that all Russians are like this. Please don't be offended. I'm just a curious 13 year old girl.)

Many people raised in communist countries have been the victims of incessant propaganda forced on them by teachers who did not understand democracy, the free enterprise system, or American society in general. They were taught that one must be selfless and sacrifices must be made to their communist doctrine to maintain the common good. They simply had little concept of the value of the individual. It is difficult for them to understand us except in terms of greed, excessive power, and waste. They were also taught to hate - hatred of other systems of government, other cultures, and ideas.

It is not easy for us to understand how people can be taught hatred and fear because we try to avoid doing that in a free system. We encourage independent thought and innovation. We are not perfect, but we manage to be generally open and fair in our dealings with other cultures. This is something unique in free systems of government.

The success of Western culture and economic wealth had much to do with bringing down communism in Eastern Europe. The people were starved for culture, freedom of thought, and material abundance. They were tired of standing in lines all day to buy a few second-rate goods and tired of living in a shadow of fear - not being able to express their thoughts and unable to express divergent ideas.

I think it's because the American government isn't in favor of Communism. That's what the Cold War was about. America and many other nations are capitalist societies, whereas others may be Communist. Maybe I'm not answering your question the way you want, but I hope it helps.

No no longer all Russians hate individuals, they only don’t like it whilst people say, “Ha ha we gained the chilly conflict!” I advise don’t circulate over to Russia and initiate speaking politics, don’t protest the two. I advise its no longer as undesirable because it was, yet its no longer thoroughly democratic the two. additionally once you communicate politics it makes you look rude and caught up, its only the way Europeans are. in any case, don’t boast approximately your u . s . a . too plenty and how unfastened it is, only like in u.s., Russians have demanding lives too, plenty are prosperous, plenty are undesirable. take care of them like people, and you’ll get alongside only wonderful.
