I got stranded on a roadside in Iraq a few months ago. It was 10 o'clock at night. I was only stranded for about five minutes, but that was enough!

Yes, in Germany. There I was, enjoying a nice train ride AWAY from Berlin, when all of a sudden the train stops in the middle of nowhere at some desolate concrete platform that was supposedly a "station" [there was literally no town to be seen -- this was just out in the wilderness]. We were told to get off because there were mechanical difficulties and the train needed to be replaced, so we all got off with our luggage and watched the train take off [to this day I don't understand why it was able to choo-choo away if it was broken]. Anyway, they said another train was on its way, but that they didn't know how long it would take. Three hours later a train approached, and kept right on going past us. After another hour, a train finally pulled up and I got back on it.
It was not a fun experience. If that train hadn't come, I would have started walking shortly thereafter.
Just one of the many reasons why I will never visit Germany again.

Yes, in a bar with a few friends. Believe it or not, our work shutdown early because of blizzard conditions in upstate New York so we went to a bar to shoot pool and eat lunch. By the time we were finished eating, there was a foot of snow on the ground and the roads had to be bulldozed for any vehicle traffic. By the next day there was 4 feet of snow on the ground, not including drifts.

Yes, late at night coming back from the Jersey shore in a car that had 2 bald tires, both or which blew! (I was only 16. I didn't know you should consider the state of the tires before you agree to get in a car.)

I was stranded at the Napoli airport for 16 hours due to "the aircraft is on it's way, you can't leave the gate area". I could have driven home in six hours.

Oh yeah
Was travelling home from my girlfriends last Tuesday & got off at wrong station, which meant would miss my connection for my final train.
So I phoned work, said I wouldn't be in the next day, and went back for another night in bed with her.

Yes. I went to a party with a friend and I was bored. I couldn't get a cab and was stuck until she was ready to go home. Since then I always drive my own car.
