I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant V6, that has a wierd noise when I start it in cold weather. It's not a squealing, but the motor just sounds rough and overly loud. When we get on the road, and the engine gets warmed up, it's fine and runs quiet like usual.........
Thought it was a belt, (I knew I needed belts replaced anyway), so I got that done this weekend and still hasnt fixed the noise....... what else could this be? I've read things about oil, could it be a fan??? Help...........

It sounds like your care is just running at a higer RPM because of the choke, it will run higher and sound louder because of it. If it is squealing it may be belt related.

Try things like a/c on or off to see if you can isolate what the squealing is. If it warms up and is fine it is not soemthing that is threatening your cars engine. Sounds like it's belt related or maybe a/c pump related.

Regards!!

the belts could make a horrid noise on a chilly start up. if the belt is glazed, that does no longer help. the rigidity-er is due each 50,000 miles from what I even have examine. the preliminary noise could be from attempting to get pumps and upload-ons shifting with a no longer so tight belt.

Usually lube oils that we are using in our cars varies to what should be the viscosity in a certain climate condition. In your case check your car manual about oil viscosity to use that will suite your area climate condition, you can also check about these in your car dealer.

Always have a car repair kit with you at all times. You'll never know when in the world it will come in handy.
