I'm not British or anything, but I think everyone has the right to be proud of their heritage-no one should be made to feel ashamed because of the actions of long dead ancestors. Be proud guys! there's nothing wrong with that, but there is a difference between pride in your heritage and xenophobia, but most rational people wouldn't ever take their pride that far...

Dead totally. I have no pride in being British anymore I used to be and in the future I hope to be again. But what I see nowadays makes my heart sink. The majority of people are out for number one and to hell with everybody else. Then there's the bleeding hearts in our Government and the people they use in these think tanks (i.e. early release for criminals weekends out of jail, the amount of paperwork our police officers have to deal with, lack of equipment for our troops, these stupid human rights laws, care in the community, the lists go on and on) And how can you have nationalism, when you are made to feel shame by your heritage. I know some of the things our forebears did were very wrong, but for how long do the future generations have to be burdened with this guilt. I could go on and on .... but someone, somewhere will call me a racist or facist and I really am not. Trust me, if I had the chance I would live elsewhere in a heartbeat .

i'm taken aback human beings like 'What the Heck' actually have the intelligence to apply a pc. i'm no longer somewhat happy with being British in accordance to se, as somebody else said, it really is basically the effect of a few random genetic threat that i changed into born in this island. I do notwithstanding, evaluate myself somewhat fortunate to stay in a tolerant and wealthy society. I do experience proud each and each and every time the British authorities does something to promote such values via the globe and that i likewise experience total disgust at the same time as the authorities acts hostile to humanitarian pastimes with a view to promote "British pastimes". Blind nationalism and flag waving is an somewhat risky element certainly.

Yes, I am very proud to be British. Everyone I know does not want to be in the European Union anymore. That is why there has been so much media coverage about having a referendum. the reason Gordon brown has refused is because he knows that the British people would tell Europe where to go. Our politicians need to be taught that they are there to listen to the people, not follow their own agenda. Here comes the revolution!
