I get that it's going into the stands in foul ground, but does it strike the fielder in fair ground or foul ground?

If it hits the fielder in fair territory and goes it, it's a ground rule double. If it hits off a fielder in foul territory and then goes out, then it's just a foul ball and a strike on the batter.

in fair territory over home run fence = home run (remember jose conseco?)

in fair territory over the fence that is not the home run fence = ground rule double

in foul territory and goes over the fence = foul ball.
