mike: good impression... and here also this is the same system, sarkozy is like bush, he has a lot of big corporations with him... for the moment all the reforms have been done for his friends.. not for the people

No, didn't know him.
He spoke very well.
My opinion of France was better before he came. France stood up against us on the issue of Iraq which was good, but Sarcozy seems to be pandering, to get something from us, he describes America as it was 50 years ago, not as it is now. Beware, our country has been bought and paid for by corporations for years now, our votes don't matter, our leaders do what benefits themselves and their friends, of course Sarcozy is smart, he wants to be a player, but I think it has more to do with what he wants for himself not his country, just my impression of him.

I knew of him even before he was elected. His speech was absolutely beautiful. I'm one of the few Americans who really never had much against the French to begin with, except for French girls who know nothing about the USA, but go around claiming we're all racists against blacks.

Sarkozy's speech made me only appreciate *him* more, not all the people of France.

(Where is France's 'black president'?)

I hope the USA can have better relations with France now. I have heard the new French president is not so much a communist like the old one.

I wish an American politician would speak about our country like your President did . . . He was extraordinary.
