This can only happen in the cartoons. There is no pressure on the toilet drain. It works on water weight and gravity. With a blockage in the drain the water entering the bowl can overflow the rim but that is pretty slow. Water should not ever make it out of the bathroom before you can turn off the water supply Usually right under the tank. It works just like a sink faucet.

Would've turned the water off to the toilet which is that little switch on the bottom in the back of the toilet. Than I would've looked around to see if there was a cleaning closet and cleaned everything up and leave it the way it was and go back to dinner and than let the next *** who uses the bathroom figure out what to do when he/she takes a poop and the toilet doesn't flush.

Get of the internet and call for help! Behind the toilet should be a turn off valve. Take a toilet brush or plunger and try pushing that down too. But really, if it was my house, I'd like to be included in the process. I'm sure your boss won't be mad or think it's your fault! Good Luck!

I would have opened up the back of the toilet and stop the flush, and shut the water off. and run down stairs and pull my boss aside quickly, and tell him what happened.

As a hypothetical scenario it's pretty funny!! In real life I would stop at the door of the dining room, tell them I was ill, thank them for a lovely time and graciously sweep out the front door! Oh, and get a new job!!!

Turn the water off with the valve in the back of the toilet...that's what you should have done in the first place.

Lol, how are you on a computer in the bathroom?

Go freaking tell them. You don't want the house to get water damage and have to pay for repairs (and lose your job).

And in the middle of all this, you got time to post this question in Y/A? You're cool man :)...

I'd say you get down and tell your boss about the situation so they don't get alarmed when they see it...

There's a knob in the back of the toilet that will shut the water off.
