While I love cats and dogs,I would have to go with the dog.You can tell just by the look on my dogs face if they did something wrong.A cat is sneaky and most times they won't look you in eye.They have a knack for trouble.

The cat of course! May not talk much but is watching everything. Dogs are too goofy to remember anything. <^-^> meow!

Dog, cats are sneaky little suckers and they look at you with innocent eyes when behind them in that brain they're thinking about scratching the crap out of you or your furniture or clothes.

A dog. I feel they are loyal even in the face of cruelty, while a cat is aloof and out for itself. (No offense, cat lover's!)

Dogs. They are much more transparent, their feelings are easily expressed through body language. Cats are sly and tricky little guys, hehe.
I have both, and this has been according to my experience with them.
