Cough drops are safe. Always read the label on things. If it says "consult your doctor", simply give your OB's office a call and ask to talk to a nurse. It's a quick call. She can verify for you any safe remedies to take.

Miscarriages most often happen because there is a pre-existing problem with the fetus that has nothing to do with anything you did or took internally. It's usually a chromosome imbalance. I know it's easy to say "don't stress out so much about it", but in this case, for a sore throat, cough drops should be ok. Best of luck to you in your pregnancy!!!!

Tylenol is the only pain reliever that an OB will tell you is ok. You can also try hot tea with lemon and honey, steam. If you are congested I believe you can take a decongestant, that might be what is causing your sore throat. It's best to ask your OB, they usually have a nurse on call to answer those questions.

Luden's cherry cough drops are made from pectin and are safe and healthy. Halls are ok too, but menthol donesn't have the same health benefit as pectin. You can also try homeopatic belladonna 200x. Put four tablets under your tongue and let them disolve. 3 to 4 times first day & second day, then stop. Homeopathics are safe & very effective for pregnant women.

I am not vegetarian but I adore the Morningstar Original Grillers (veggie hamburgers) and cooked over a grill with a toasted bun, lettuce tomato mayo and a slice of cheese melted on the burger - excellent. Prepare a can or two of Bush's veggie baked beans and put them in a casserole add a handful of diced onion, red bell peppers, clove of garlic, couple tablespoons molasses, ketchup and bake for about 1hr covered @ 325F.Then wrap the casserole dish with lots of newspapers and stuff it in a cooler or wrap it in a beach towel and it will stay hot for hours. Great side dish with the grillers. I use the leftover baked bean (cold as a filling to a sandwhich) two slices of whole wheat bread with mayo and a couple of heaping spoons of cold baked beans = Baked bean sammy. Don't knock it until you have tried it.

If you can't talk to a doctor or nurse then call a pharmacy and talk to a pharmacist, they can recommend something OTC (over the counter) that has been approved for use by pregnant women.

Halls are OK. Ask your doc or the pharmacist at the drug store if ever in question of what you can take.

The pharmacy can bring up their database of drug classes to tell you what is safe and what is not.

You are able to take very mild painkillers. But make sure they are 100mg or 200mg. Nothing higher than that. An i know this is def ok as i asked my community midwife what i could take for my headaches. This is what she told me! x
