There are certain requirements (such as market cap, number of owners, liquidity as measured by volume, etc.) for a stock to have listed options. A lot of stocks on major exchanges do not meet those requirements.

For a list of stocks with options go to

This list is updated daily and I am confident it is more accurate than information from Yahoo.

Most listed stocks, but not all, are available for trading put and call options. The list of stocks with options has become very large and the price spreads have become smaller, making it easier to trade options. Stock brokers typically make option chains available to investors on their web sites.

If you want to know if the stocks listed has options on it, just go to finance.yahoo.com and you enter the stock name. once the ticker is up, look on the left navigation menu.

If there are options there that means this stock has options on it. if not than there is no options for this stock
