So I finally got caught up in the hype and I'm interested in joining a pyramid scheme. How can I lose money? Seriously, I want to know what could happen that could see me losing money in a pyramid/networking scheme. Anyone have any insight? It costs US$159 to start and I get $50 for each referral.

Most pyramid schemes are illegal. You lose money when you join and you do not get any referrals. You may want to check this out and make some extra money. It is not a get rich scheme either. If you willing to pay $159 to join a pyramid scheme then this site may be for you. The name of the site is Prosper.com and you can lend money to other people throughout the United States. Propser is located in San Francisco and they have plenty of free information for potential lenders. The minimum you would need is at least $50. I have been a part of eight loans and I receive monthly payments (part of my principal and interest) for 36 months on each loan made. Good Luck

For one,it's illegal as it is a form of gambling. You are hoping that you are not the last person to fall for it as you only get money if somebody after you goes for it.The last level of the pyramid gets absolutely NOTHING.The only people who make money are those at the top of the pyramid, which means you're odds of breaking even are less than ZERO.For each player involved the amount of money would have to increase to maintain the cash flow,so ask yourself if you can get more than four referals or would you rather throw $159 dollars away in the garbage?

Well, first they are illegal.

Secondly they only work if you get in early. Because the new comers get put at the bottom of the pyramid, and unless everyone sells memberships to others, and have those others sell, and those people sell, etc. you'll be screwed.
