Early labor pains might be mild, but they should be steady and not go away if you rest.
Constant aches and pains are normal towards the end of your pregnancy because of the baby dropping and because of the slow dilation of the cervix. Sounds like this is what you are experiencing.
Real labor will get more and more intense and the contractions (like menstrual cramps) more frequent.
Congrats on your 4th - I'm expecting mine, too!

I was told that you can figure out if they are true labor pains vs. false labor pains by getting up and moving around. If the pain continues, gets worse, and the contractions (or back labor pains) get stronger and closer together the more you move, then it is probably true labor. If the pains are spaced apart irregularly (like 3 min, then 11 min, then 5 min, then 20 min) and the pain stops or lessens the more you move then you are probably in false labor. If you are concerned you should call your OB, that's what they are there for, they don't mind you calling! I called mine a LOT, for all sorts of questions. Good luck :)

Could be contractions, which may or may not be the onset of labor.
Drink some water and lie down to rest for at least a half hour and see what happens. If they go away, the contractions were just related to uterine irritability. True labor won't stop, it will get more intense over several hours.
But if you're ever not sure, you can always call your doctor and ask if you need to be evaulated.

could be braxton hicks? i found the beginning pains feel like period pains and get stronger. you get back labour pains if your babys back is to yours (back labour). if you think your in labour then call ur doc/midwife. All the best!

It can be different for each women. I had a tight feeling in my stomach that would come and go on a regular pattern after awhile. I had no real pain , no water broke.

Its mentrual cramping that is intense then stops, then returns at regular intervals. You don't have to keep track until its strong. I know what you mean about forgetting due to age gaps. Mine will be ten years younger than my now youngest.
