Who do you think is the better American Idol? I heard Carrie recently surpassed Kelly as the most-sellingest Idol... but I still think Kelly's the *best* Idol! She has a stronger voice and has more international appeal also...

kelly definitely wins this battle. i think carrie is talented at what she does, and a pretty face can sell records, but kelly is better by far. kelly can sing anything, and i mean ANYTHING. she can handle pop, country, rock, blues, big band...you name it, she can sing it. i can't say the same for carrie. carrie might have sold more albums than kelly, but, and i really mean this, is her album sales total compared to kelly's domestic sales, or her worldwide sales because i have a hard time believing that carrie beat kelly's all-time worldwide sales.
kelly has more international and crossover appeal than carrie ever will. kelly's voice is better, and she actually has a personality without having an enormous ego.

Oh, that is hard. I own Carrie's CD, but Im kinda starting to like Kelly more. I like her song Never Again. I think that Carrie Underwood is the most successful American Idol though.

Nope, no contest--Carrie Underwood. Maybe it's because I like country music better, but I think Carrie is much prettier and I like her voice better. Kelly is too whiny and she has an annoying lisp--listen to her early hit " I Moment Like Thith" ---I think she has worked on it some since then (or they are fixing it in the studio) but it's still there a little bit.
Also most of Kelly's songs are bitter or angry sounding, while most of Carrie's (with the exception of Before He Cheats) are uplifting and inspirational. Even in Before He Cheats, she powerfully takes matters into her own hands instead of just whining or being angry about it!

Kelly has an amazing voice but I feel Carrie's sweeter in personality. Also, Carrie's country music is a bit contrasted to the pop/rock/alternative stuff nowadays, so I guess people just feel a change when they listen to her.
