iBook and Powerbooks are older mac notebook that use the PowerPC CPU. The iBook is the consumer notebook and the Powerbook was Apple's professional level notebook.

Apple has kept this philosophy with their new notebooks. The macbook is the entry level consumer laptop and the macbook pro is the higher end professional level laptop. Booth macbooks use the newer Intel processors.

The powerbook is the oldest model, that was replaced by the Apple iBook and that was recently replaced by the macbook the ibook and powerbook are virtually identical while the macbook comes with a camera

Apple now makes the macbook and the macbook pro. The differences are processor speeds, monitor resolution and built in graphics capabilities.... oh yes, and price.
