George W Bush or any other person that was/will be the US president does not set the price of oil. Washington isn't the Wizard of Oz, they cannot control the markets.

Demand for oil across the globe has risen substantially and fast. Both India and China continue massive increases in oil consumption everyday.

The nit-wits in Congress need to change their Rube Goldberg regulations so that American companies can drill for oil in the oceans and ANWR. Right now, Cuba is tapping into huge, valuable oil resources in the ocean that Congress won't allow Americans to tap. In other words, Cuba is stealing America's oil because Congress is too busy watching poll results, schmoozing for campaign money, and writing one-liners for the press.

In the US, Congress writes legislation, not the Executive branch. So if you need to blame Washington, aim correctly, and blame Congress!

George W. Bush is very heavily invested in oil. The higher the price gets, the riuher he gets.

He already knows that he is not eligible to run for President again. His popularity has dropped low enough that he doesn't have much chance of ending his Presidency with a very high popularity rating, plus for most of the rest of his term, the spotlight will be on the candidates to be his successor rather than on himself.

Since his political career is almost over, why not focus on himself? He will jump for joy each time oil prices rise. And his bank account will jump up right along with him.

"Cha-Ching!"

But seriously.. let it rise.. the sooner it gets out of control.. the sooner alternative energy sources become more viable and profitable... don't get me wrong.. it will suck for a while till the switch occurs... but it's got to happen sometime so we may as well get it out of the way and stop the dependence of foreign oil!

Edit: Why does the right keep saying it's the left that is doing this and that when it was Clinton that started using our reserves here at home to regulate our gas prices and keep them down.

He will start to make Iraq another state like Alaska or Hawaii. They are his kind of people. They have oil.

Yes.

This administration just proves how horrible Republicans really are.

2007-11-12 02:13:07 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 3 2

The reason is because the leftist loons won't let us build any more refineries or drill in the Gulf and more in Alaska.

Why can the left not answer that? The left is who is keeping us dependent on foreign oil.
