I don't expect others to treat me like a toilet and so I don't do that to others.I cannot be responsible for other peoples choices but it does not mean I have to change the way I think.I think you show people the same dignity and respect we expect from others..Life does not always work out fair but that is not an excuse to give up on others.

That's a very good saying, it would be great if everyone could live by that saying, but the reality is that a lot of people only think about themselves, in the moment, and don't think about the consequences of their actions until after the fact, being cheated on has to be one of the worst feelings in the world to have to go through, something that can scar some people forever. But another good saying is "what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger" and "the guilty don't sleep." Kama also works in mysterious ways. :)

It is not a perfect world, nor are relationships. When we dwell on the negative, we get negative back. Perhaps we should dwell on love, peace, caring for others and all the good qualities you listed as the universe will give you back what you emit. We are quick to blame and play victim and have our immediate wants materialize instantly. When we come from the point of view that someone else or something else is responsible for our personal happiness, in life, we will continue to feel loss, despair and pain.

I think most people lose sight of that and are more into themselves. The he said, she said, you did this to hurt me, etc. It isn't such a hard thing to do, but people have to want it in their life in order to achieve it. We all go after what we want regardless if we know how to get it. Maybe, just maybe some people want to be treated in a negative way, hard concept to grasp for some of us, but I think there are people that want to be treated badly and enjoy treating others badly.

Like fine wine, the older you get the easier the Golden Rule becomes. When you're young, go ahead, make those stupid mistakes. Then when you look back, you'll cringe a bit and realize that "doing unto others" makes tons of sense, because what goes around, comes around. Trust me.
