I am appr. 6 weeks with my second child. I had morning sickness with the first but it was only in the morning, I felt nauseous, got sick and felt fine the rest of the day. This time I am constantly feeling sick, I don't even want to eat. I get hungry but I'm so nauseous that I don't want to try. Sometimes it even last through the night and I can't sleep. Any suggestions are appreciated.

My Dr. Prescribed for me Diclectin. It is perfectly safe for the baby and it helps so much with the sickness. Before using it I was sick day and night.

Definitely the baby carrots are a big help. I find I have even begun to crave them now. I could never stomach Saltines when I was feeling nauseous in the past and I am not about to try them again now. Thankfully I have only had *true* morning sickness once, but I have felt queasy constantly. Nothing sounds good except salad, fruit, baby carrots, and sometimes steak. Weird. Just eat what stays down for now, I am told this will all pass around 12 weeks...then you start really eating for two!

There are a few things you can try. Try to nibble on some saltines to settle your stomach. The more you can keep something in there the better you'll feel. Try to get some protein. Peanut butter is great because it's easy to get down. You can smell some lemons or ginger, sometimes that helps.

Don't drink water until you feel better, it will make you feel sicker. Ginger ale, Sprite or hawaiian punch will be easier on your tummy and give you some calories to work with.

When I had it really bad, I lived on bananas, yogurt and ramen noodles for about 2 weeks. If you find something you can keep down, stick with it.

If Saltines don't work for you (they made the nausea worse for me, and in just the last month or so I've been able to look at these crackers again - I am now 34.5 weeks along - because everyone suggested saltines, and they were horrible for me), try some ginger ale, and for me, sucking on wintogreen lifesavers made a big difference. I know it's a lot fo sugar, but it really helped. Also, mandarin oranges helped as well as baby carrots (for healthier alternatives.)

The main cause of morning sickness is a combination of issues related to the chemical changes your body is going through. Mix a pinch of nutmeg powder with a table spoon of gooseberry juice, and take it thrice a day. Sip little by little ginger juice mixed with honey before you get out of bed. You can try sea band. Its a wrist band you wear to help ease nausea. You can have it special ordered through any pharmacy. Or Call your doctor and have them call you in some reglan for nausea during the day because it wont make you drowsy and phenergan for nighttime drowsiness. There are also lollipops for pregnant women and sickness you can by at any motherhood maternity. I had morning sickness through out my pregnancy and these things helped me. Good luck!

Hiya, just getting over it myself, horrendous!! Ginger everything I had and it helped. Ginger biscuits, ginger tea, chewing on stem ginger, this gets a bit hot in the mouth though, I put a few drops of ginger oil on a hanky and kept sniffing it when I felt sick! Chewing strong minty chewing gum also helped! Good luck and it will soon pass, I am nearly 12 wks and mine has almost gone!!! XX

My thing was to eat constantly....I carried around a bag of baby carrots and graham crackers and ginger ale. I had episodes all day long, I noticed it was worse around the times that I got hungry and my blood sugar dropped.

Try Saltine crackers. They are supposed to settle your stomach. Before you even get out of bed, have them on your night stand, eat a few slowly. I know this sounds kind of loony but it worked for my friend, this is what her doctor suggested.

Good Luck!
