That is the biggest fallacy around ... what you are really talking about is the way that the MEDIA CHOOSES what they WISH to present ... and this is WITH the Inherent BIAS that is part and parcel of all media organizations (and believe me, the bias is omnipresent -- you can't get away from it .. most reporting is so negative about Americans and our Government -- and so FAR away from the TRUTH about what we believe in).
In fact, unless it is a national security issue, our Government is by far and away the MOST OPEN about the information ... all one has to do is look for the information, attend your Government Meetings (council meetings), look at your County, or even your State and National Legislatures (you can actually attend sessions if you want to and, although you may have to reserve seating ... it is very OPEN about the process!).
So instead of perpetuating the BIAS that is present in the media ... open the mind and realize that obtaining the TRUE information (from the sessions of all levels of Government) yourself (by attending any sessions that you want to) IS as SIMPLE as ATTENDING your Local, County, State or National Legislature Sessions .. and getting in touch with your elected representatives is also that simple -- made even more so with E-Mail contact and most have local offices too (Where they have it staffed to meet with their constituents).

So far we don't have that problem. But the liberals are trying hard. The democrats want to take Rush, and Hannity, and Liddy, and others off the air. Lucky we have the 1st amendment so far. Watch for the democrats to attack that right just as they did the 2nd amendment. Liberals hate freedom.

They don't. The media does. You can get whatever information you want to know about unless it is classified due to national security issues. You have to do your own leg work to get it.
