an opportunist and a PROVEN LIAR.
Washington Post--
A bipartisan investigation by the Senate intelligence committee subsequently established that all of these claims were false -- and that Mr. Wilson was recommended for the Niger trip by Ms. Plame, his wife. When this fact, along with Ms. Plame's name, was disclosed in a column by Robert D. Novak, Mr. Wilson advanced yet another sensational charge: that his wife was a covert CIA operative and that senior White House officials had orchestrated the leak of her name to destroy her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson.
The partisan furor over this allegation led to the appointment of special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald. Yet after two years of investigation, Mr. Fitzgerald charged no one with a crime for leaking Ms. Plame's name. In fact, he learned early on that Mr. Novak's primary source was former deputy secretary of state Richard L. Armitage, an unlikely tool of the White House. The trial has provided convincing evidence that there was no conspiracy to punish Mr. Wilson by leaking Ms. Plame's identity -- and no evidence that she was, in fact, covert.

She didn't create her opportunity, she had it forced upon her. She never asked to be outed, she had that done to her. Now, she has become a very public figure, unable to continue in her chosen career, why should she not accept what benefits are now available to her?
And Wormwar1, your cut and paste is a little confusing. First of all, according to the CIA, she was, in fact, a covert operative. And why would Armitage be an unlikely tool of the White House, if he had been working for the Bush Administration?

She is being investigated for giving inconsistent testimony, the same "crime" Scooter was convicted for. Don't worry, since lies are expected from liberals she will not be prosecuted. As for whether she was ever under cover, when asked about that Bill Clinton smiled and said she was, and when she was under cover with him she was very good at the job.

Just like a NEO-CON, Attacking someone who happened to disagree with your politics, but you can't attack on the issues, because you were wrong on the issues, so you have to find something else to attack them on. Why don't you read up on the great service Ambasador Wilson has done for his country.
Plame's role in the CIA was not administrative, Special Prosecuter Patrick Fitsgerald stated her role in the CIA was a non-official covert role relating to counter-proliferation. She was considered a vital asset to national security... that is until her covert role was exposed.

Yes, I'm sure she was just looking for an excuse to be outed while covert. Sounds like lots of fun to me. Running, ducking, trying to get out of whatever country you're in without getting arrested.
Also, she wasn't an admin CIA worker. She was involved in anti-proliferation and was covert. The CIA has actually redacted large portions of her book that talk about what she was doing prior to her outing. They don't even want to talk about if she was covert or not.

No. I wonder though whether the other CIA agents who worked for her cover employer, and their contacts, who were hurt by the outing of Plame will have an opportunity to publicize their stories.

Well she can't go back to being a CIA Agent, thanks to the Bush Administration. She deserves the right to making a living just like anyone else.
If I was in the CIA and the Bush Administration exposed me. I would do all I can to make money from the situation, and I would do all I can to embarrass the Bush Administration for this shameful act.

You are aware it was the CIA that demanded there be an investigation into the Plame affair; and it was the CIA that testified (by document) at the Scooter Libby trial that Plame was, indeed, a covert agent, aren’t you?

That would be the nicest way to describe her. In whole, the democratic party leaked this to the media. Reviewing the facts, she was no longer an agent, or was she really an undercover agent at the time the so called exposure to her identity was made. Democratic politicians will stop at nothing to regain total control of all local and the Federal Government(s). The biggest lie still in play, is the democratic party if for the "little guy", "minorities" , " the downtrodden"... They are the truest definition of hypocrite.

She'd still be working for "Brewster Jennings and Associates" and earning a decent salary from them, as reported on her income tax returns. She is therefore entitled to make up her lost income.
