It should depend where you go, but a lot of notaries will notarize your signature for free. Try your bank - it should offer this service at no charge. I am a notary and have never charged anyone a fee for this service.

Many banks offer free notary service to their customers, depending on the type of accounts you have. Even if they charge you, it probably won't be more than two or three dollars.

If you have a bank... they might do it for free. Or try an insurance office. Sometimes businesses like that have someone on staff be a notary so that they can get their documents notarized easily.
