The construction unions might have a specific classification for flag people and the women apply specifically for that. But I've seen women working shovels, driving large paving equipment and changing road signs so I know they can do it all.

Because they are not illegal immigrants, that is all I see working in construction here in Colorado.

in this country the people directing traffic are not even women
I suppose they just dont want to work in construction, I mean the opportunity is there for them if they wanted to....

Maybe you just haven't seen them in your area. I have seen ladies driving steam rollers and front loaders before.
