Hello Confused
That would depend on the psychic.
I'm a psychic councilor, so I ask 'how can we help you'. Your concern is my 'tool', my link.
She may want to know the area that you wish looking at, Such as my marriage, my job, my relationship with whoever, but wont want the finer details. You will both discuss those as you go along. She may even want you to give her nothing or even something personal to hold to create a link.
She may use other tools such as tarot etc. She may even ask for your DOB if she does astrology.
Just relax, we don't bite. Ask her how she works before you settle down, she will tell you.
Take responsibility for what you wish to have guidance on, nod, give clarification as she goes along, helps to keep link strong. If you don't understand anything or another question linked to what you have asked comes to mind - ask.
Hope you find what you are looking for
Pam

I'd suggest that you ask at what psychic school she received her training--you know, just like you might with a doctor. I wouldn't tell her anything.. If she really IS psychic, she should know all about you anyway. She can use any information you supply to make you think she really has psychic powers. Don't get sucked in.

First she'll ask you to relax so she can link in with you, some psychics can tune directly into you without the use of psychometry, tarot etc. If this is the case then be prepared to write down notes (that is if shes not recording the session for you)
You should really only give her your name and age. Some deal within astrology and will ask for your date of birth. Just do not feed her too much some people are inherently talkative and will say far more than which is appropiate.
Just sit back and enjoy the reading. Feel free to let us know how it goes.

There are many different types of "psychics". You should just go into the whole thing with an open mind. Try to get into a state where you can make connections with everything. The whole "psychic" thing is based on how everything is connected. So, just be open and think about yourself and what goes on around you. OR don't waste your money, read some books, and become a "psychic" yourself.

A good psychic advisor will use a combination of Astrology (your zodiac sign), Tarot Divination (reading the cards), Palmistry (the lines on your hands) and Hellstromism (interpreting your muscle reactions to what he/she is saying) to perform your reading.
He or she will most likely ask for your birthday and what you would like to know. That's all you need to answer. A psychic who asks too many questions is fishing for info and will base their reading on your responses to their questions.
Hope you have a great reading today!
EDIT: Some people are apparently mistaken... A psychic is not a "mind reader" as in they don't know everything you're thinking at every moment. They use the ancient tools that I listed above that they have studied extensively for years to perform your reading.
There are intricate details attached to your Astrological sign, right down to the minute you were born.... Each card in the Tarot deck has a special meaning both in the card and where it lays in the spread.... Every line on your hand has significant clues to who you are as an individual and every involuntary muscle reaction you have to what he/she is saying will let them know if they are on the right track..... These are all learned tools of the trade and like I said, a good psychic "advisor" has studied for years.

It depends on the psychic, but usually, they want to know why you're there. Usually there's a reason you came to them, something you want to know that you're hoping she'll be able to tell you. She may ask you for your name and birthdate, any names and birthdates of the people you're asking about (if you are). That sort of thing. Don't sweat it, honey. She's just going to ask you questions that will help her connect to your energy and your situation. Just relax.
Advice... don't play test the psychic, don't ask her stuff just to see if she's for real. It's rude, and it can throw her off (not that I think you would, just saying). That would be my own piece of advice. Good luck. And have fun!
BTW...telling her why you're there, what questions you have about your life, only helps her to know where to focus her energies.

Psychics are frauds. And what they're doing is fishing for information from the very second they first see you. They need anything they can get - and if they know your name, you feel more in their power.

If she really is psychic, wouldn't she have the answers without you having to verbalize the question?

Dont give her any information at all. In fact, if you have to give up information, give her FALSE information, DISinformation. If she is truely psychic she will know that you are lying and will confront you about it. If she gives you a false reading based on your false information, run out and put a stop-payment on the check you gave her. DO NOT GIVE CASH IN ADVANCE.
