Time the toaster...it is like 2 minutes or so....

Stand by the toaster and look at your second hand on your watch or a clock and when it is just before the time it pops...push of the button and make the toast come out....it will not be scary at all!

My toaster scared the crap out of me for years before I developed this strategic method of avoiding the "POP!!!"

Not sure why one would be afraid of a toaster but there is another way you can make toast.
It is called a Toaster Oven.
You open a door and lay the toast down and turn it on and you can even watch it brown.
It is also great for cooking other foods. Check it out and enjoy.

Go in the other room for about 2 min and then go back in the kitchen and it should be done. Do you have a toaster oven? Or try putting the bread in the oven and see if that works.

for all time. I save having to tell myself that this is only toast and could no longer attempt to homicide me, despite the fact that it in no way works. i'm going to even stand by using the toaster and know whilst it comes up and it nevertheless scares me badly.

Don't wait for it to pop on its own. You can gentle raise the button yourself when the toast is done.

well, you can purchase oneof those mini, ovens, and they will get the job done, without any scary popups. or you can just leave the room when your toast pops up.
