Tough call.
If you put more emphasis on offensive it's Braun, but if you put more emphasis on defense, it's Tulowiszki.
I'll personally go with Tulowitski, because i put great emphasis on defense. Stat wise Braun is much better, but there are so many intangible about Tulowitski. I keep wondering if Rockies could have made to WS if they did not have great defense like they did. Tulo saved tons of runs with his defense.
I'd vote for Tulo over Braun. (No offense to Braun, you have one of the great year for a rookie since Albert Pujols in 2001)

Tulowitzki.
He should have been the gold glove at shortstop, he led the NL SS's in fielding percentage, total chances, assists, and double plays.
It's not like he can't hit either, 24 homers, 99 RBI's and a .291 BA is not shabby at all for a shortstop. Plus he played all season, not 3/4's of it.
It'll be just like 2005 when Howard won it over Taveras I'm afraid. Taveras put in a good quality season, good BA, good stolen bases, could get on base several different ways, but in the end, power won. Home runs are something people remember, defense isn't.
It should go to Tulowitzki, but I doubt that it does. Most of these awards are awarded to the most popular guys anymore anyway (just like now the gold glove doesn't go to the best fielding percentage, what a crock).

Braun needs to be a DH. He is the worst 3rd baseman in the history of the universe. Tulo needs to win because offense, likely caused by steroids, is not everything. Oh and if you want to talk offense Tulo led all rookies in runs, hits, and doubles, or did you all forget that little detail. Homeruns are not everything. Not to mention Tulo helped his team pull off the upset of the year to make the playoffs, I am pretty sure Braun did not.

Ryan Braun hands down. If he played the whole year he woulda hit 50 HR. Tulo didn't hit well on the road and his defense can't make up for Braun's power stats.

I'd say Tulowitzki. His offense and defense were part of the reason Colorado made the playoffs.
BTW, there are 162 games in a season, not 155.
