employees like crap. I really hate working there. I know giving a two weeks notice will be the right thing to do, but on the other hand I'm scared that they will tell me to just leave before i'm ready.

Really, the only reason to give notice is for your own reputation. Employers don't give notice before they fire someone, but they don't like to hire people who are a badly behaved as they are.

It used to be (don't know if it still is), here in the U.S., that once your notice was handed in, if your employer told you to leave that day, they had to pay you for the time. For instance, I gave two weeks notice, but my employer told me to leave that day, and paid me for the two weeks. Many employers distrust people who are leaving, and prefer to have them leave immediately.

Again, giving notice preserves your good reputation. Give the notice, but check on-line for current law before you do, so that you'll know your rights, just in case . . .

Do you want to use them as a reference for future employment? If so, give them notice.

References are pretty important when you're looking for work.

Give it only if you expect to use them for a reference!
