To me spirituality is a deep abiding joy in the flow of life, both good & bad.

If you plan to be about the business of human life, things like names, status/caste, gender & age etc. matter.

I think spirtuality has much to offer in terms of not letting yourself be destroyed by lifes disappointments and setbacks.

But spirtuality that tells you to ignore your physical life is just foolishness. If there is an afterlife you will get there soon enough. If there isn't pissing away your one and only physical existance is a horrible waste.

In general, anyone telling you to let go of the physical world, is an idiot or a com man.

Spirituality is the realization that indeed our existence is not dependent on our name, caste, gender, age or even religion.... would one become someone else in reality just by changing name or caste or gender or religion or even age? I believe that we can never become another by any of these means.... the real change in us can only happen through our spiritual development, for better or worse...... age is one factor which may perhaps contribute through the unique experience one gains, but not necessarily since a lot of us get older, but not wiser through age.
