Got my BT Homehub last November, it's worked fine, last weekend the connection dropped, I called the Bt helpline who said it was a laptop problem. Laptop has been checked, nothing wrong there. Finally got the connection back but it drops out every few minutes for about 10 seconds then connects up again.I use the laptop for work, its getting impossible to get anything done, PLEASE, can anyone help.

This a popular problem but can be linked to many problems and the following are my suggestions. You may wish to move the hub/router somewhere more central/higher in the house to get a better signal throughout the house. The closer u are to the router the better the signal. Other causes can be bad weather, phone line work/fault, phone line with small megabyte usage (i.e 1mb, u need to ring BT to find out)computer crashing problems, re-install of the driver needed. Alternatively you may wish to get a seperate phone line for the internet to reduce interference. Also you may wish to upgrade the router with more coverage and speed (i.e from 56 Mbps to 108 Mbps). Hope that helps!

I had the same problem with BT Home Hub. Don't know why it was dropping out but the way I fixed it was to re-enter the Network Key onto the laptop, that solved it! Good luck.

We had the same problem last weekend with ours too - seems like the service was the problem.

We forced our hub onto another channel, which *touch wood* has worked ok all week - blasted service is rubbish from them though.

we had this problem a while ago took bt a month to sort and after they said it was our fault for upgrading they backed down and said the signal wasn't strong enough to power it probably and went back to using wired router . in my opinion bt help desk is a waste of space
