Here in Georgia your employer can fire you at any time, without explanation, and you can't ask why!
I'd better not ever get fired!

I would appeal, if only to get a better reason. You aid you started with 5 others who were all kept on. So either you are not telling us the truth and you have done something ie taken too much time of or not been upto the job and they have let you down gently.
It is very rare that an employer will get back to you on deadline day regarding probabtion, they will have made a decision by then but more often than not 1 to 1's regarding probabtion are usually held a few days after the probabtion period is up. So you have no come back there.
Probabtion periods are a nightmare, you have be on your best behavoir and work your socks off as it gives an employer an excuse to get rid without just reason, it is very hard to sack sombody now a days outwith gross misconduct

One month, two months, three months.....6 months probation - means literally nothing. It appears that many are unaware that a company can legally dispense with anyone within the first year of their employment without really having a valid reason and there is nothing you can do about it.
Another thing to take into account is that, for some, after that 'trial' period they begin to show their 'true colours' and its then the employer gets to see the 'real' person whom believed thought they were pass that probation....sorry, not until after 12 months!
Out into the wind you must go. :o)

Treat employment as employment and nothing else. I just left one job after three months probation but left after 4 months, Why? Too much backstabbing and i was getting caught up in it. I left three weeks ago and got a phone call from them today asking me if i'm available for work. I don't answer them. Go to work, get money, Don't take anything personally. If the firm closes not your fault, never look back.

You should always have a employee contract even one that describes temporary work. In your case unless you have a specific action such as a comment about your race or religion, your company does not need a reason to let you go. I am sorry about that. You should follow-up with them at least to get a letter of reference to apply for a similar position. Also if you were doing something they did not like they would have had to document it and most places have you sign something as a warning so when it comes time to fire you, it covers their behind.

The company I work for is the same way and so are a lot of other companies. They can terminate you without reason within or the day your probation is up. They legally don't have to tell you anything but sorry you didn't pass probation.

Sorry you haven't a leg to stand on. All you can do is plead your case and hope to convince them that you are worth another contract. If I were you I would just move on.

It depends on what state you live in. In a right to work state, they can fire you at anytime with or without cause.

Why would you want to work for a company that doesn't want you?
