While the food at McDonald's is not the best for most people, it's not fair to generalize it as "healthy" or "not healthy." Sometimes, it's the person eating it that needs to be labeled as such. How many "healthy" (mentally, emotionally) educated people do you know that eat a giant burger or two, an extra large order of fries, and a shake four or five times a week? There's something awry in their lives or in their body chemistry that makes them want to do that. Even if the food might taste good and their young bodies seem to handle it alright, what's up with them if their own medical results don't at least make them think twice about that kind of eating? If not their own results, how about strong dietary research?
It can be a different story for people eating fatty, high sodium food once every week or two. Some people can eat very well during the week, and a "treat" isn't likely to hurt them. I don't eat greasy, salty foods because my body does not handle them well. I feel lousy, get lethargic, my cholesterol level and my blood pressure go up, and my physician gets annoyed. My husband, on the other hand, has no trouble enjoying that type of food once a week or so, but prefers to stay home and eat with the family. Our teenager did not grow up on fast food, so those places are not even on her list when we give her the decision of where we'll eat one night. So, is McDonald's food healthy? The question should be, "Are you?"

Most of it's not healthy, but certain items like salad with low fat dressing and grilled chicken, the Grilled Chicken sandwiches, Oven Roasted Turkey Deli Sandwich, parfait, Cranberry Orange muffins, etc. are healthy. If eaten in moderation, McDonalds food is perfectly fine.

It's full of saturated fats and huge amounts of salt. There are a few things that could be considered "healthy" (i.e the salads), but they include a salad dressing that has 25 grams of fat.

That being said, every three months or so I do enjoy a greasy ol' burger.

I love McDonalds. No one can say its NOT healthy, but are there healthier food out there? yes. McDonalds food is no unhealthier then the pint of ice cream you have at home in your freezer or the Diet Coke (proven to cause cancer) in your refridgerator. So yes its nice to eat a yummy big mac every once in a while but i prefer not to eat it more then once in two weeks.

I wouldn't call it healthy, but it is convienient. Just remember portion control. Some of the salads have as much fat and soduim in them as the burgers. If you go there, go for the small, healtier items, get water instead of pop, etc.

Of course it is not healthy... but so many of us eat it on a regular basis anyways. I can't stand the food plus it always makes me feel sick later.

Not healthy and most of it tastes like crap too. The only things I like are the McRib, chicken nuggets and breakfast burritos.
