Why read, it gives me a headache and a stiif back. Why not just watch TV or a movie is better than reading. Its so boring! I mean its better to watch Television(more enjoyable) or a movie, less time to waste. Pictures move around but words don't. All you do is look at a bunch of words and nothing.

Because some people, a lot of people, have a better, more active imagination than yours and have no real trouble imaging the story in their mind, whether it's a basic story or a very abstract story.
But I still can sit down in front of the tube and enjoy an episode of Lost, or The Godfather, or a good football game and just shut off my imagination for a while.

Obviously, you haven't picked up any James Patterson books. Pick up any one of his books - read it - then see if you find books boring. He has more action in most of his opening chapters than an entire movie/television show.

Are you serious? reading is great, it stimulates the mind, lets u feel what the character feels, nothing like TV. Reading broadens your perspective, it lets u see how the author thinks and his views on life. Try reading you won't regret it.

for someone to say that reading is boring is an afront to ppl like me . ppl who dont read have little imagination and I find to be some of the most uneducated ppl I have ever met . Ppl who read to me are interesting and they are quite well versed on most subjects .I for one do not understand ppl who dont read . sorry but that is just me . good luck and god bless .

reading is fun. it can take you to places you've never been before. besides, it can help you to enhance your vocabulary skills. watching tv helps alot because of the graphics and stuffs but reading helps your mind to work. :)

are you not reading this ? people are different my boyfriend only reads things off computer screens and he is loads more intelligent than me but i love to read.
