Set IP Address on printer to MATCH RANGE on main network so if PCs are 192.168.0.xxx use a free number with different numbers in last sector
On PC
ADD PRINTER
LOCAL PRINTER
Set as a TCP/IP PORT with the IP address you just configured on the printer

Printing to a printer DIRECTLY connected to a network is a LOCAL printer on TCP/IP
A "Network printer" is a printer hanging off a printer server / other PC and sharred

When you are setting up a network printer such as this, you must set the static IP address correctly. For example if your router is set up to use the IP address 192.168.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, then the addresses 192.168.1.2 up to 192.168.1.254 are available assuming no other static devices are on the network. If your router assigns addresses using dhcp, then you should choose an address that is not included in the DHCP pool. So if the router assigns addresses between 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.115, you should not use any of those addresses. This would leave addresses 192.168.1.2 up to 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.1.116 up to 192.168.1.254 available for the printer. Also be sure to set the printer subnet mask to be the same as the router.
