Sourav Ganguly possess extraordinary leadership abilities.He is the most successful captain India has ever seen. His records as a captain will not be surpassed in a long time. Although he deserves the captaincy, it doesn't matter whether he is the captain or not, he is still the best.Also captaincy often affects a player's performance, so in a way it may actually benefit him. Remember, there is a saying called, "uneasy lies the head that wears rhe crown."

Though Ganguly isthe most successful captain of Indian cricket, the success has gone into his head and had developed certain amount of ego, which changed his attitude and behaviour, which was the main reason for loosing the captaincy. Presently he is not most popular among allthe pl,ahyers and such a person cannot lead the team successfully.

exactly!!!i agree with u..GANGULY wud hv been the best choice in fact...coz dhonni is not at all experienced..this is his first series after the 20-20 cup!!!coz a test match reqires lots of planning and xperience..now anil kumble is appointed as the captain 4 the tests..i dont think this is d rite decision..wen u hv one of d most successful captains SOURAV GANGULY in d team,y did d selectors opt 4 kumble?i feel d selectors hv some grudge agst sourav!!!!!this not d time to test who s d best captain!!!!this is such a vital series!!!!!!!!

WELL I PERSONALLY DONOT WANT ANY MORE CONTROVERSIES AGAINEST SIR GANGULY. IF GANGULY WOULD HAVE BECAME THE CAPTAIN OF THE TEST TEAM AGAIN, THEN ICC & MEDIA WOULD SURELY BRING OUT THE DEAD FROM THE GRAVE AGAIN, WHICH WOULD SURELY HAMPER HIS PERFORMANCE. SO, GOOD LUCK KUMBLE.
